What Is Data Science?

قياسي

Data science is a field that blends math and statistics with specialized programming, advanced analytics methods like machine-learning, statistical research, and predictive modeling. It is used to uncover actionable insights hidden in large data sets and guide business strategy, planning, and decision making. The job requires a combination of technical abilities, including upfront data preparation analysis, mining, as well as an ability to communicate effectively and to share results with other people.

Data scientists are typically enthusiastic, creative and enthusiastic about their work. They are drawn by challenging intellectual tasks, for example, deriving complicated analysis from data or finding new insights. A lot of them are “data nerds” who cannot help themselves when it comes looking into and analyzing “truths” that lie under the surface.

The first step of the data science process is collecting resource raw data using a variety of methods and sources, such as spreadsheets, databases, application program interface (API) and videos or images. Preprocessing involves removing values, normalising or encoding numerical features, identifying patterns and trends and dividing the data into training and testing sets to evaluate models.

Due to factors such as volume of data, velocity and complexity it can be difficult to analyze the data and identify meaningful insights. Using proven methods and techniques to analyze data is crucial. Regression analysis allows you to understand how dependent and independent variables are related by using a linear formula that is fitted and classification algorithms such as Decision Trees and tDistributed stochastic neighbor embedding can help you reduce the size of your data and find relevant groups.
